Design Tech Dragons Brand Refresh
An Auspicious Symbol
Silicon Valley giant Oracle founded Design Tech High School, or ‘d.tech’, with a deep rooted commitment to education and developing the next generation of innovators. Seeking to promote its athletic program, d.tech partnered with Travis Lum to reset its brand identity and design an engaging new platform for educators, students, and parents.
Multiple visual directions were explored setting the groundwork for an athletic department overhaul.
A flexible identity system was crafted to bring visual alignment to d.tech’s athletic programs. A powerful Dragon symbol was introduced, a typeface inspired by Oracle’s ‘O’ was created, and Oracle’s brand color palette was incorporated.
Not all athletic budgets were created equal. So variants of this identity system were created and deployed across d.tech’s programs.
