A Wee Makeover
Carlmont High School is driven by the idea that an engaged learning community allows its students to succeed in academia, career, life choices, and athletics. This served as the guiding vision and inspiration behind a new identity system.
Carlmont is more than academic. That’s what makes it interesting, but can also dilute its brand identity. My task was to create clarity around their visual expression.
I designed a new forward-facing Scotsman mark, redrew Carlmont’s lettermark to improve legibility, and created a typeface based on this lettermark to scale across print and digital platforms. I also crafted a new color palette to include Navy, Powder Blue, Silver, and White.
Carlmont required a flexible identity system to bring visual alignment across its athletic department. The flexibility of this system was first tailored to its volleyball program. It now extends across all its programs.
